(Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files, C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData if not this then it is your Profile and other files causing the issue. Please try this since you have tried other things. The abandon again.ok well do what ya gotta do. If you are low on ram then can turn them down or can up them from default but will use more and create heat. Of Flash and Sound/Video go into the Sandbox which requires it you Extensions require it as well as they use give or take 20megs each. Hi, Firefox is a multi-processor browser so what you are seeing is normal operation. I would really hate to abandon Firefox, but I might have to if I can't get it working. I have been using Firefox for years, and do not understand why suddenly I'm having so many problems. Opening in safe mode sometimes works, mostly does not. It is trying to open two tabs and I don't know why. There is no sessionstore.jsonlz4 file in the one profile folder that is currently present and yet Firefox still hangs. Task manager shows 4 to 7 processes of Firefox running (see attached screenshot).

Problems started again after several openings and closings of Firefox.

Uninstall Firefox, delete profile folders (there were three), reinstall - It looked like this would do the trick, it did not. Uninstall/reinstall Firefox with refresh - similar to shutdown/start, only allows Firefox to open normally a couple of times. A simple reboot does not help, must be a cold boot, not a warm boot.ĭelete sessionstore.jsonlz4 file in profile folder - Does not always work, can still hang on startup Shutdown and start PC (shutdown, not restart) - will allow Firefox to start OK only once or twice. Here is the troubleshooting that I have done: When asked to restore or not, It does not matter what I choose both options result in Firefox hanging. For the past several weeks Quantum has been either asking to restore the previous session or just hangs at start up (showing "not responding").
